Audio, Tick

Today I received an email giving me full permission to use the audio track I wanted. All they ask in return is a credit, which I shall put at either the beginning or end of the animation.

Today %

So far I have created part of my animation. Yesterday I projected, documented and edited the animation. Animation is still at a draft stage so nothing is yet complete, I hope to have this all done within the next two weeks.

Innovation is the creation of the new or the re-arranging of the old in a new way

It has been nearly 2 whole months since my last blog update. In that time things have been moving fast and positively. Im now at the stage of creating my animation from storyboards, which will be uploaded for you to view. I've decided to split the work up in terms of time ie 1700's, 1800's 1900's and the 2000's. It's been fun collating everything into its correct timelines for reference. Now that everything is neatly organised i feel so much more confident about it working. It's just getting it all done now. Obviously the style of the piece is going to reflect my own but I've been looking at nice info graphics to see how knowledge is communicated in a relaxed way. I've noticed one that I already blogged on the 2nd of March that I seem to always enjoy so maybe it's heading in that sort of direction. I'll re-link some of them at the end of this post.

It's just under a week until I present my what I've done so far to the rest of my graphics group. Im hoping that I can show enough for everyone to fully understand my project as before it has always been "this is what Im planning on doing." So Im hoping to get some really good feedback and advice.

Broadway Meeting-Result!

After the meeting at Broadway with Simon and Matt I am happy to say that they have given me the "greenlight" to use Broadway as a platform for my MA project. It seems like a win-win situation, they want more and more graduates to get involved with Broadway and I want to do work for them. After the discussion we all seem to be on the same page, which is good meaning we can work in harmony. They have given me experimental freedom with the building saying I can explore different techniques in projection, which is amazing! So now I need to write up a formal proposal to finalise it all with all my goals and deadlines etc.

State of the Internet

Interesting animation to help educate the rise of the use of the internet, perhaps something as similar as this could be used for my projection onto Broadway.

Broadway Test

Here is a sample for my Broadway projection

To gain an understanding of how it would look against architecture I have created a show sample looking at how the colours light up certain parts of a wall.

Project Violette

We have just closed down the exhibition for Fear&Comedy an exhibition directed by Robert Violette and Melanie Mues. My role was part of the graphics team, we looked at visual art in movie posters for both horror and comedy genre movies. We decided to choose well known people in each genre, research the conventions of their posters and try juxtapose them with one another. I decided to choose "Leatherface" from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and introduce the elements form the early Charlie Chaplin movie posters from films such as "The Kid" and "The Great Dictator". I found it a valuable experience to see how a short deadline can be within the industry and also how sometimes it is very hard to please your senior directors. All-in-all I think everyone had fun and it was nice to meet people who have become successful in an industry I want to be in.

This is really well done, the sounds and experiments. I especially enjoy the sound accompanied it really enhances the visuals.
